Noel Gallagher said Wednesday he will share an unreleased Oasis song overnight.
“Like the rest of the world I’ve had infinite time to kill lately so I thought I’d FINALLY look and find out what was actually on the HUNDREDS of faceless unmarked cd’s (sic) I’ve got lying around in boxes at home.”
Gallagher said he found “an old demo which I thought had been lost forever” – a song called “Don’t Stop” – on an undated CD. “As far as I’m aware there is only one version of this tune ‘out there’ from an Oasis soundcheck in Hong Kong about 15 years ago,” the musician wrote, adding that he was unsure if the demo was made before or after that version.
Gallagher said he will release the track for fans to “enjoy/argue over.”
He concluded his message with: “You’re welcome by the way.”
Gallagher and his brother Liam performed as Oasis from 1991 until an acrimonious split in 2009. The group’s last album was 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul.
