Like father, like son.
The Notorious B.I.G.'s son, Christopher "CJ" Wallace Jr. says his debut album is dropping later this year.
In an interview with London’s Evening Standard, Wallace said he and younger brother Joshua Jahad Russaw, who have been working together for several years as CJ and Jahad, spent the last few months recording the album.
Wallace, 20, was only a baby when his famous father was shot dead in Los Angeles. He was raised by mom Faith Evans and her second husband Todd Russaw.
“At a young age I always knew I wanted to do music, it was inevitable,” Wallace told the Evening Standard. “My family [has] always had my back, whatever I’ve wanted to do they’ve supported. They were always giving me advice on what to do and how to go about things.”
Last year, Wallace told The Daily Beast the upcoming album has singing and rap.
“I can’t even compare it to Drake because my brother doesn’t listen to the new stuff,” he explained. “He says, ‘I can’t listen to that, because then I’ll act like it.’ So we listen to Dwele or Outkast when we’re trying to come up with new ideas.”
