Ozzy Osbourne has denied that he is addicted to sex.
This contradicts a statement released by his rep last August claiming the Black Sabbath frontman's marital difficulties were due to a “sex addition” and that he was receiving “intense therapy.”
But, in an interview with The Times published this week, Osbourne declared: “I don’t think I’m a f**king sex addict.”
He explained: “I’m in a f**king rock band, aren’t I? There have always been groupies. I just got caught, didn’t I?”
The 68-year-old’s marriage to Sharon Osbourne reportedly survived a well-publicized affair with former hair stylist Michelle Pugh.
“[Ozzy] is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context,” read the statement issued last summer. “He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Out of the bad comes good.
“Ozzy is mortified at what his behaviour has done to his family. He thanks God that his incredible wife Sharon is at his side to support him.”
Ozzy and Sharon were wed in 1982 and have three adult children.
Black Sabbath will play their final live shows Feb. 2 and 4 in Birmingham, England. Guitarist Tommy Iommi, 68, was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012.
Former Black Sabbath keyboardist Geoff Nicholls died of lung cancer on Jan. 28.
