Rock bands Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch and Sixx:A.M. were recognized recently by the Canadian Red Cross for raising $48,000 to support its disaster management work.
The three U.S.-based groups donated $1 from every ticket sold during their cross-Canada tour in September to the organization. In Edmonton, the bands collected an additional $1,000 in donations during an autograph signing session — which was matched by HMV.
The tour kicked off in Abbotsford, B.C. on Sept. 9 and stopped in 13 more cities — including Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg — before wrapping up on Sept. 28 in Halifax.
While in London, Ont. the members of Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch and Sixx:A.M. were presented with certificates of appreciation by Angel D’Andrea, director of national community engagement at the Canadian Red Cross.
