Paul McCartney has become the UK's first billionaire musician, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
The 2024 edition of the publication's list has the Beatles legend joining the ranks of Britain's wealthiest citizens, which is led by Hinduja Group chairman Gopi Hinduja and his family, who are reportedly worth £37.196 billion ($64.2 billion CAD).
McCartney comes in at #165 on the list with a fortune estimated at £1 billion ($1.7 billion CAD), which received a £50 million thanks to a 2023 tour, his massive discography, the release of the AI-assisted Beatles single "Now and Then," the re-release of the Beatles doc Let It Be, and oh, that cover of "Blackbird" Beyoncé recorded for Cowboy Carter.
Other musicians making the top 350 include Elton John with £470 million ($811.50 million CAD) and Victoria Beckham, who along with her husband ex-footballer David Beckham, are worth £455 million ($785.72 CAD).
The Times also released its 40 Richest People Under 40 In The UK list, which included Ed Sheeran at #10 with £340 million ($587.14 million CAD), followed by Harry Styles at #17 with £175 million ($302.22 million CAD) and Adele at #19 with £170 million ($293.59 million CAD).
Wow, they're all so loaded!
