“I’m comin’ out so you better get this party started.”
This is what a pregnant fan’s baby was thinking at a Pink concert in Liverpool on Tuesday.
Denise Jones, 32, went into labour inside Anfield Stadium while the singer kicked off her concert with “Get the Party Started.”
After getting the call that one of the pop star’s fans was ready to pop, medics John Matthews and Dani Berg made their way through the crowd to Jones.
“When we reached her, it was quite clear the patient was heavily pregnant and showing signs of being in labour,” Matthews told the Liverpool Echo. “We took the decision to move her as quickly as possible to the First Aid Room.
“We continued to assess her and established she was going to have to deliver the baby in the stadium as there was not enough time to get her to hospital."
Without any kind of pain relief, Jones – described by the medics as “incredible” and “really calm – pushed out a baby girl, weighing 6 lbs. 4.5 oz.
Jones had planned to name her daughter Dolly Louise but, given the circumstances, opted for Dolly Pink.
“I'm still massively in shock,” she told the Echo. “Just a bit gutted I missed the concert.”
The birth did not go unnoticed by Pink, who posted an image of a news story about it on Instagram. She captioned it: “Dolly Pink wanted to get the party started.”
