Pitbull is coming under fire for a song he contributed to the Aquaman soundtrack.
“Ocean to Ocean,” featuring Rhea, samples Toto’s 1982 hit “Africa” – a song that was given new life this year thanks to a solid Weezer cover.
On social media, the rapper is being eviscerated for using a classic tune in one of his self-indulgent raps.
“It’s more horrendous than you could ever imagine,” tweeted @Will1867. In YouTube comments, one user asked: “Is there a way this song could finally put Pitbull away for war crimes?”
In “Ocean to Ocean,” Pitbull raps about Miami (“still got love for these streets / 305 ’til I die”) and his fame and fortune (“I live it, they rap it / There’s a difference, girl / Getting paid more than athletes / Man, life is sweet”).
Pitbull also quotes Tupac and declares: “I’m the living Great Gatsby” (which he attempts to rhyme with “Banksy.”
And, other than the title and a mention of “sea to sea,” it’s not clear what the song has to do with Aquaman.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions on Twitter:

I do kind of feel the world was in need of a Pitbull cover of Africa. And we needed it to be terrible.
