A Prince concert filmed 35 years ago will be streamed for three days only to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
Prince and the Revolution: Live was shot on March 30 in Syracuse, New York near the end of the Purple Rain tour and was released on VHS and reissued on DVD in 2017 as part of the Purple Rain deluxe edition.
In addition to hits like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “When Doves Cry,” “Little Red Corvette” and “I Would Die 4 U,” the concert features tracks like “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore,” “Let’s Pretend We’re Married” and “Possessed.”
The singer’s estate has partnered with YouTube to make the concert available from 8 pm ET on May 14 until 11:59 pm ET on May 17. There will be a fan Q&A with Revolution drummer Bobby Z on May 14 at 7 pm ET.
Every dollar donated will be matched by $2 from Google, up to $5 million U.S., for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
