Prince, Depeche Mode and Green Day are but some of the musical acts selected for the 2025 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.
The Purple One has long been considered deserving of a star, following his unexpected death in 2016. At the time, Ana Martinez, producer for the Walk of Fame explained that he had never been nominated before, and that the proper paperwork had never been submitted.
However, Prince will be one of rare inductions to be received posthumously.
Other musical acts also receiving their stars include synth-pop pioneers Depeche Mode, pop-punk heroes Green Day, country star Keith Urban, new wave icons The B-52's, R&B singer/actress Fantasia, rapper Busta Rhymes, R&B legends The Isley Brothers, country legend George Strait, film director and composer John Carpenter, and classic rockers WAR.
On the motion picture side, Jane Fonda, Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Emilio Estevez, Nia Long, Bill Duke, Robert Englund, Lisa Lu, Glynn Turman and Toni Vaz.
TV stars to be honoured include Lauren Graham, Bill Nye, Fran Drescher, Courtney B. Vance, Molly Shannon, Sherri Shepherd, Chris Wallace, and South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone in a double ceremony.
