Prince, who died last summer, is on the albums chart again with a soundtrack first released 33 years ago.
The remastered reissue of Purple Rain debuts at No. 4 on Billboard 200 chart, published Tuesday.
The original album spent 24 weeks at No. 1 following its release in 1984.
Warner Bros. Records said the reissue was “overseen and sanctioned” by Prince.
In the 12 months following his death on April 21, 2016, Prince sold more albums than any other artist – narrowly beating Adele’s sales.
This week, Purple Rain is on the Billboard 200 chart behind Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN (No. 3) and Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (No. 2). The top spot belongs to Grateful, the new collection from DJ Khaled.
