Prince’s sister has said she believes the singer knew he was going to die soon.

In an interview for People Icons: Gone Too Soon airing soon, Tyka Nelson revealed she received a call from Prince about three years ago. “He said, ‘I think I’ve done everything I’ve come to do.’

“He knew. And he was preparing me. It’s very clear.”

Prince was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota on April 21, 2016. It was later determined that he died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl. He was 57.

“He needed to go,” Nelson added. “He was tired.”

She said she last saw Prince at his estate days before he died.

“We were making jokes,” she recalled. “We hugged three times.”
