Prince, The Clash, Frankie Valli and more are set to receive Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Record Academy.
The honour will be handed out during the Special Merit Awards Ceremony, which will take place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on February 1, as part of the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Other recipients of the award include R&B artist Frankie Beverly, gospel singer Dr. Bobby Jones, blues musician Taj Mahal, and pioneering MC Roxanne Shante.
Prince has a long history with quite a bit of success at the Grammy Awards, racking up 32 nominations that included seven wins, including Best Album Of Original Score Written For A Motion Picture Or A Television Special and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal, both for Purple Rain.
The Clash, on the other hand, weren't recognized by the Grammy Awards until 2000, when they were nominated for and won Best Long Form Music Video for their documentary, The Clash: Westway To The World.
Frankie Valli, along with his group the Four Seasons, has had little luck with the Grammys, being nominated five times, including Best New Artist Of 1962, without any wins.
