PSY and Megan Thee Stallion are set to star in a new K-pop song battle series called KPOPPED from Apple TV+.
A press release reveals that Apple has commissioned eight episodes, where, "In each episode, western icons reimagine one of their biggest hits, collaborating with top-tier K-pop idols to deliver spectacular battle performances, with a live Seoul-based audience picking the winner of the best new K-popped song."
Produced by music legend Lionel Richie, KPOPPED brings together PSY, whose 2012 hit "Gangnam Style" put K-pop on the map for North America, and three-time Grammy award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who will also serve as executive producer and perform her hit "Savage."
This will mark the second K-pop-related content produced by Apple TV+, which previously created last year's docuseries K-Pop Idols.
No official date has been released for KPOPPED, but the streaming service promises that it's "coming soon."
