Quincy Jones is ready to collect money he feels is owned to him. Variety is reporting that the famed producer is suing Michael Jackson's estate for $30 million.

Jones' lawyer Mike McKool claims that before Jackson's death in 2009, his client was paid fairly with Bad, Off the Wall, and Thriller royalties. However, when the Pop King passed away, there was a "surge of interest" in Jackson's albums and a number of the records on these projects that received this surge were produced by Jones.

“He hasn’t been adjusted as Michael was adjusted,” McKool said in court this week. The attorney also said that Jones was shortened on profits he was supposed to receive from This Is It, the documentary that showed the behind-the-scenes details of Jackson's final tour. The project was released about Jackson's death. This Is It grossed over $300 million.

The attorney of the singer's estate, Zia Modabber, says that these claims are not factual. "We believe the evidence will show that Mr. Jones is not entitled to anything but a fraction of the money he’s after,” Modabber said. “Mr. Jones has been paid over $18 million, and he will make millions more.”

This news comes after news of Jackson's estate plans of releasing a Halloween special surfaced. Moreover, some unreleased songs of the Pop King's will be auctioned off in the Gotta Have Rock & Roll auction. So, his estate is definitely still making that dough.
