R&B singer Ann Marie, best known for her 2018 track “Secret,” has been arrested in connection to a shooting at a hotel in the Buckhead district of Atlanta on Dec. 1.
The 25-year-old, whose real name is Joann Slater, was booked into Fulton County Jail for possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
She is accused of shooting her friend Jonathan Wright, 24, in the head inside a room at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel. He was rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to a police report, Ann Marie was wearing only a bathrobe when officers arrived and was screaming and repeatedly asking if Wright was dead. She allegedly told an officer the gun had fallen off a table and fired, striking the victim in the forehead.
