Rage Against The Machine have announced that they will not be playing any more shows together.
After reuniting multiple times since going on hiatus in 2000, the highly influential rap-rock band appear to have played their final show together back in 2022.
This comes from drummer Brad Wilk, who confirmed on socials that the band will not be making up the canceled dates left on their most recent tour.
“I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again,” he wrote. “I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was.”
The band had to cancel the remaining dates of their North American tour after frontman Zack de la Rocha tore his Achilles tendon.
Wilk's statement mirrors the uncertainty guitarist Tom Morello shared about the band's future last March. He told Rolling Stone, "If there are Rage shows, if there are not Rage shows, you’ll hear from the band. I do not know. When there is news, it will come from a collective statement from the band. There is no news.”
While it wasn't issued a "collective statement from the band," for now we can only assume Wilk's statement reflects the entire band's interests.
