Two members of Rammstein flouted Russia’s anti-LGBT law during a concert on Monday in Moscow.
Guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe shared a kiss in front of more than 80,000 fans inside Luzhniki Stadium during the band’s song “Auslander.”
The German metal band posted a photo of the smooch on Instagram with the caption: “Russia, we love you.”
Russia has banned depictions of “non-traditional sexual relationships” in front of minors since 2013. Foreigners can be arrested and detained for up to 15 days, fined $104 and deported.
Rammstein is scheduled to perform in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Friday.
Monday’s kiss wasn’t the first time the band has shown support for equality on its current European tour. Last week in Poland – where far right protesters recently attacked revellers at a Pride parade – frontman Till Lindemann waved a rainbow flag as he floated above the crowd in a dinghy.
It’s also far from the first time Landers and Kruspe have kissed on stage. Fans have dubbed the pair “Paulchard.”
