Rapper and producer FXXXXY, who had collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Durk, died last week at 25.
According to his label, the Dallas rapper (whose real name is Maudell Watkins) suffered complications while undergoing an unspecified routine medical procedure.
In a statement, FXXXXY’s family said they were “shocked and devasted.” They said “he lived music with every breath he took and his focus and drive were unmatched.”
Future signed FXXXXY to a publishing deal following the release of the EPs Cartel Shawty in 2016 and Flawed Up Shawty the following year. FXXXXY is credited with working on "Solitaires" ft. Travis Scott on Future’s High Off Life.
Earlier this month, FXXXXY released the single “Paranoia / #1 Stunna.”
