Chicago rapper Lil Durk released a track titled “Turn Myself In” this week – and then turned himself into police.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is Durk Banks, surrendered Thursday after warrants were issued for his arrest on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Banks also faces a criminal street gang charge.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Banks is a suspect in a shooting outside a restaurant in February. A man was wounded in the leg.
Lil Durk posted "Turning myself in tomorrow" on Instagram with a sad face emoji and then shared "Turn Myself In" on YouTube.
“Stay makin’ up lies, for sure / I’m an innocent man, for sure,” he raps. “It is what is is, for sure.”
Banks has had several run-ins with the law over the years. He served time behind bars on a 2011 weapons charge and was arrested in 2013 for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Lil Durk has released three studio albums since 2015.
