Up-and-coming rapper Mo3 died Wednesday after being shot in a brazen daylight shooting on a Dallas highway. He was 28.
Mo3, a father of three whose real name is Melvin Noble, was best known for last year’s “Errybody” with Boosie Badazz, who was among those paying tribute on social media.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Mo3 was driving on Interstate 35E around noon when a man with a gun exited a vehicle and approached him and fired multiple rounds. The rapper exited his vehicle to flee but was chased by the suspect.
Another motorist was hit but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Mo3, who was reportedly shot last December, described himself as a former gang member in an interview last year with Flaunt. “I don't travel with security. Security or no security, you’re always targeted," he said. "Your level of success makes you a target. You have people looking at you who are less fortunate, so you’re automatically a target. You’re looking at nobody, you don't know these people, but you’re automatically a target."
