Brian Velasco, drummer for Filipino hard rock band Razorback, died Wednesday by suicide. He was 41.
“Today we lost our brother and our hearts are broken,” read a message on the band’s Facebook page. “We love you and we will always miss you Bri.”
The musician live-streamed his final moments (which iHeartRadio.ca has chosen not to describe) on Facebook.
Velasco joined Razorback in 1996. In addition to its own concerts, the band has opened for acts like Metallica, Silverchair and Rage Against the Machine. It released nine albums between 1995 and 2005 and, last year, dropped the single “Stargazer.”
Again, how many people should leave us before we realize that depression is no joke? Rest in peace, Sir Brian Velasco of Razorback.
