Reba McEntire Named Recipient Of Kennedy Center Honors

Reba McEntire is going to Washington.

The country star on Wednesday was named one of this year’s recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors.

The annual gala recognizes lifetime achievement in the arts.

“I am so honored to be one of this year’s #KCHonors recipients,” the 63-year-old singer tweeted. “Can’t wait to see you all in DC!”

McEntire was named along with music legend Cher, composer Phillip Glass, jazz musician Wayne Shorter and the musical Hamilton. They will be feted Dec. 2.

Previous country honourees include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard.
