Record Store Day Canada has announced that rockers Big Wreck will be ambassadors for this year's edition of the event.
The news comes after parent organizers in the U.S. announced that Post Malone would serve as an ambassador for this year's edition of the initiative.
In a press statement, Big Wreck frontman Ian Thornley said, "It's a great honour for Big Wreck to be Record Store Day Ambassadors. We grew up going to record stores and building our vinyl collections and it means a lot to us to continue the tradition."
In addition to their roles as ambassadors, the band will release an exclusive deluxe edition of their 2012 album Albatross with a previously unreleased bonus track and live recording of Albatross recorded at Suhr Guitar Factory.
Started in 2007, Record Store Day aims to promote and foster the discovery of music through independent, local, brick-and-mortar record stores.
This year's edition of Record Store Day will take place around the world on April 12, 2025.
