Rihanna has reached a new milestone in her career. The singer has scored her 30th top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Michael Jackson by having the most top 10 hits on the chart. The record was officially broken when her single off of 2016’s ANTI, “Love On the Brain”, slid into no. 8 position this past week.
“LOTB just became my 30th top ten hit on @billboard's Hot 100!!! Feeling so blessed. Thank you Navy!!” the singer tweeted.
Jackson had only 29 songs reach the top 10 before his tragic death in 2009. The 29-year-old singer now holds the third spot in overall artists with the most top 10 hits, outstripped by The Beatles (34) and Madonna, who holds the record with 38 top 10 tracks.
In 2005, Rihanna’s breakout single, “Pon De Replay”, helped to make her name, reaching the no. 2 spots in both the U.S. and U.K. charts. As today also marks the one-year anniversary of Rihanna’s video for “Work”, she has plenty to celebrate.
