Former Beatle Ringo Starr and Ex-Bee Gee Barry Gibb are the latest British citizens to be selected for knighthood by the Queen.
"It's great!" Starr said of the honour, in a statement on Friday. "It's an honour and a pleasure to be considered and acknowledged for my music and my charity work, both of which I love. Peace and love.”
Gibb said in a statement: "I want to acknowledge how responsible my brothers are for this honour. It is as much theirs as it is mine. This is a moment in life to be treasured and never forgotten.”

The UK Cabinet Office announces a list of those receiving honours for merit, service or bravery annually, just before New Year’s and in June.
The process of nominations begins first with the public, and then are reviewed by an honours committee. The list is then sent to the prime minister before being awarded by the Queen or senior royals. Four people, including Starr and Gibb, were selected this time.
Previous rock royalty to be honoured and knighted by the Queen include Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Bono, Rod Stewart, Elton John and Van Morrison.
