Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was knighted on Tuesday at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Prince William stood in for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in honouring Starr for his service to music.
Starr, whose real name is Richard Starkey, told reporters the title of “Sir” is new “and I don’t know how you use it properly.”
The 77-year-old said of the medal: “I’ll be wearing it at breakfast.”
Starr’s bandmate Paul McCartney was knighted 21 years ago.
