Robert Plant is making headlines this week for comments he made nearly nine months ago about Willie Nelson’s generosity with his stash.
In the latest episode of his podcast Digging Deep, recorded late last year, the 72-year-old rock icon reflected on being part of Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour last September with his band the Sensational Space Shifters.
Plant recalled seeing Nelson “with his big bus giving away weed to everybody – and also rolling machines, a lot.”
The singer added: “Free! 'Have some of Willie’s weed.’ He gives it away. It’s a truckload… free, with doors to go in, get your little hit and go out the other side.”
In July, Nelson recalled once being too high to do a concert.
“I don’t remember the town but I do remember that I wasn’t able to do a show,” the 87-year-old country icon told guest host George Lopez on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I walked out there and said ‘Sorry’ and went back to the bus.
“I came back about a month later and said ‘I think I remember being here before.’”
In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, Nelson said he has smoked pot for at least 65 years and he is high “pretty much all the time."
