Rod Stewart is looking back fondly on his days fronting the Jeff Beck Group and collaborating with one the greatest guitarists of all-time.
He recently told Rolling Stone he'd like nothing more than to do another record with Beck, if the two can get their creative visions in line.
"Well, my voice and his guitar is a match made in heaven," Stewart said. "It would be a lovely thing to do. It'd be a complete lefthand turn. We did try it once, but we couldn't see eye to eye — I mean, a serious clash of egos, but you know, never say never.
"I know it's a cliché, but really, I'm up for it if he's up for it."
Stewart shared the biggest potential stumbling block. "We both want to produce. That's the thing," he said.
While the former band mates have performed together since their Jeff Beck Group days, there have been no new studio recordings from the two.
The Jeff Beck Group was Beck's first band after leaving The Yardbirds in 1967. Stewart fronted the band from 1967 to 1969, singing on its first two albums, Truth and Beck-Ola.
