The Royal Canadian Mint has teamed up with Fender Guitars to make a silver $2 coin in the shape of the iconic Fender Jazzmaster.
No, you can't play "Pump It Up" with the coin, but any collector of musical gear or rare coins will want to get their hands on this unique, limited edition legal tender coin.
The Mint describes the coin as an engraved, pure silver 1 oz. legal tender with colour, texture and a glossy finish. Each one is individually serialized and comes with a box to make the coin displayable. The mintage of the coin is 4,000.
This isn't the first collaboration between the Mint and Fender. Previously they have released coins in the shape of the Stratocaster both in 2022 and 2023, both of which sold out.
Despite a listed face value of $2, the coin will actually cost you $149.95, which if the math is correct means an immediate financial loss of $148 upon purchase - and that's before tax and shipping! So buyer beware. Only kidding! This is obviously an investment piece.
You can find more information at the Mint's official shop.
