Rufus Wainwright is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album with a tour that includes one Canadian stop.
The singer-songwriter, who grew up in Montreal, said he is looking forward to going back on the road with a band.
“We are going to be focusing on my first two albums,” the 44-year-old explained in a video message, “so a lot of songs that I haven’t sung in a long time.”
Wainwright’s self-titled debut came out in 1998 and he followed it with Poses in 2001.
His only Canadian date is Nov. 22 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto – but the singer, who grew up in Montreal, teased there will be “surprise dates” added to the tour.
Tickets for the All These Poses Anniversary Tour go on sale April 13.
