Rufus Wainwright, the singer-songwriter who grew up in Montreal, is inviting fans to join him in Cuba for four days of “celebrating the sights and sounds of Havana.”
Wainwright Libre: Rufus in Havana takes place Sept. 21 to 25.
In a message on his website, the 43-year-old promised “a fantastic opportunity to really dig into the culture of Cuba together.” The trip includes meals, tours, dance parties, cigar and rum tastings, and a meet-and-greet with Wainwright.
Wainwright will also perform a pair of shows. “The first performance, just for you, will be a private, stripped-down, solo show,” he said.
“We’ll also be playing a public show, and I have some surprises in store for this one... but I will tell you that I’ll be playing alongside some of Cuba’s best musicians, some of the greatest musicians in the world.”
Wainwright, who has previously performed in Cuba, called the country “really beautiful.”
Prices range from $2,700 USD per person to $5,300 USD per couple and do not include air transportation.
