Hip-hop duo Run the Jewels has dropped its new album RTJ4 two days earlier than scheduled.
“F**k it, why wait,” read a message on social media. "The world is infested with bulls**t so here’s something raw to listen to while you deal with it all. We hope it brings you some joy. Stay safe and hopeful out there and thank you for giving 2 friends the chance to be heard and do what they love.”
RTJ4, the first album from Killer Mike and El-P since 2016, is available to download for free from the Run the Jewels website.
Fans are being encouraged to donate to the National Lawyers Guild and other organizations supporting the fight for justice and equality in the U.S.
The album has already spawned the singles “Yankee and the Brave (Ep. 4)” and “Ooh LA LA” ft. Greg Nice and DJ Premier. There are also tracks featuring 2 Chainz, Pharrell Williams and Zack de la Rocha and Mavis Staples and Josh Homme.
