Canadian musician Dan Snaith, who records under the name Caribou, is not happy about the use of one of his songs on American conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s show.
Late last week, Snaith tweeted an expletive to Limbaugh and added: “Please either: a) stop using my music on your show or b) stop being a bigot.”
Limbaugh recently said on air that he was obsessed with Caribou’s “Can’t Do Without You,” which was used on a recent episode of How To Get Away With Murder.
“This is my new favourite song of all time right now, folks,” he told listeners. “I’ve been grooving to it in every free moment that I have."
Limbaugh played part of the song on his show.
“Whoever wrote this song was really missing the babe, because that's it, for six minutes — ‘Can’t do without you,’ by a group called Caribou.”
A native of Dundas, Ontario, Snaith’s 2007 album Andorra won the Polaris Music Prize.
“Can’t Do Without You” was included on his 2014 album Our Love.
