Sam Corbett is rejoining The Sheepdogs after stepping away to battle cancer.
The Canadian band’s drummer shared the good news via Twitter on Saturday.
“I’m all done my treatments, I’m feeling good, and I’m going to be joining the band on all the upcoming dates,” Corbett said.
The Sheepdogs will warm up for a busy year of touring with a New Year’s Eve performance in Niagara Falls, Ont. They’ll tour Quebec in early January and then head overseas until April.
Corbett had more good news to share – he revealed that he and his wife recently welcomed their first child.

The musician announced in October that he was diagnosed with cancer in the summer and would need to take time off from The Sheepdogs. The band continued its U.S. and European tour with replacement drummers.
Corbett has not disclosed the type of cancer he had, but it's believed it was testicular cancer that spread into the retroperitoneal lymph nodes in his abdomen.
“I felt a lump and ended up going to the doctor,” he told the CBC in early October, explaining that he had surgery to have a tumour removed. “When I found out it was Stage 2 cancer and it had moved into lymph nodes I realized I had to do more treatment.”
Corbett said he underwent three weeks of radiation treatment.
