Creed frontman Scott Stapp portrays Frank Sinatra in a forthcoming biopic of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan.

Stapp, 47, appears as the iconic crooner in a scene set at the Cocoanut Grove nightclub inside the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

"Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint,” said Stapp, in a statement. “He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room.”

Stapp said he was “blown away” by the attention to detail on set. The role marks Stapp’s feature film acting debut. (He had a small role in the 2004 TV movie 30 Days Until I’m Famous.)

Reagan, which stars Dennis Quaid in the titular role, is scheduled for release next year.
