Selena Gomez has revealed that she was recently reunited with the crib in which she spent time as a baby.
Appearing on Friday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 27-year-old pop star said she often visits the house in Grand Prairie, Texas where she was born and raised.
“It’s nostalgic for me,” Gomez explained. Late last year, she knocked on the door. “Someone was finally there, because no one’s ever there. It was just this chill dude and he was like, ‘Yeah, come look around.’ He was so unfazed that I was there.”
Gomez said the current owner told her that her crib was still in the garage. “I was like, ‘My crib is in your garage? Can I have it?’ He goes ‘Sure!’”
The singer also saw that she had written in the closet that she was in love with Cole Sprouse, who starred on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Years later, she guest-starred on the show and experienced her first kiss – with Cole’s brother Dylan.
“It was my first kiss,” she recalled. “It was one of the worst days of my life.”
Gomez appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote her new album Rare, which she said has inspired her to return to the studio to keep making new music.
“I know that people may not think that I’m the greatest singer but I just work my ass off,” she said. “I really love writing and creating and creating melodies and growing. I felt like this [album] was my chance to say all the things that I wanted to say in that way, which was talking about relationships and talking about difficult times or being vulnerable or being stuck in your head, because I can do that a lot.
“I wanted it to feel good. I wanted it to feel like every word mattered and you could feel it physically.”
