A particularly animated Selena Gomez let it slip Wednesday night that she is working on a follow-up to her January album Rare.
Appearing in avatar form on the Twitch show Animal Talking inside the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game, the 28-year-old pop star said: “I’ve been working on the new album … Oh no, I don’t know if I was supposed to say that!
“I’m playing with some stuff.”
Gomez hinted there could one day be a collaboration with her longtime friend Taylor Swift.
“I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor,” she said. “We both wanted to do that. We’ve talked about it for sure … You never know!”
The singer also shared how she has been handling the COVID-19 lockdown. “I definitely wouldn’t say it’s been the best time,” admitted Gomez. “In the beginning I had a really hard time and I think anybody would have a hard time sitting with their thoughts and sitting with what’s going on that could obviously cause so much stress.
“Eventually I found out ways that I could be helpful and I found things that interested me and tried to have fun in moments when I can.”
