The hair stylist who gave Selena Gomez the daring buzzed undercut she showed off on Instagram this week has said it was done on an impulse.
Tim Dueñas told Page Six the razor-created new look was “all Selena’s idea.”
He recalled: “I asked her, ‘Well, how long have you been debating it? And she said, ‘[Since] last night!’ She was like, ‘When I want to go for something, I do it.’ I think she just wanted a change.”
Dueñas said the look was achieved in 10 minutes. The 25-year-old singer’s longtime hairstylist Marissa Marino then added a braid.
“With those low corners, you can’t even tell [the undercut] is there,” he explained. “It leaves her with a lot more versatility in how to wear her hair; she can wear it down, she can do a ponytail. You kind of have to think about all the options for her!”
Having options is good, because Dueñas said it can typically take about a year for an undercut like this to grow out.
