Canadian actor Seth Rogen has revealed that he once passed up a chance to play basketball with Kanye West because he was hungover.
The B.C.-born funnyman told Rolling Stone that he first met the rap star around 12 years ago.
“My house was right around the corner from a personal trainer who trains famous people,” Rogen explained, referring to fellow Canadian Harley Pasternak.
“One morning I was leaving my house and Kanye West jogged by me and said ‘You’re a funny motherf**ker’!’”
Rogen said a few weeks later he was waking up with a hangover and heard his wife Lauren answering their home intercom.
“I heard her go, ‘Can Seth come outside and play basketball?’ She goes, ‘Who is this?’ and then I heard her go, ‘Kanye’ who?,’” he recalled.
“And then I was like, ‘Oh, no! It’s Kanye West!’ And I ran downstairs, and, like, literally he was standing at my front door with a basketball under his arm and was like, ‘You wanna come play?’
“Like he was just a kid in the neighbourhood. And I was like, ‘Dude, honestly I’m so hungover. I can’t do this.’”
Rogen missed his chance to shoot hoops with West but said he has run into the rapper from time to time over the years. “I love Kanye West,” he said.
