Shania Twain is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her breakthrough album The Woman in Me with a “Diamond Edition,” out on Friday, that includes remastered versions of all 12 songs as well as remixes, live versions and early recordings.
Released in February 1995, The Woman in Me – Twain’s second album – went on to sell more than 20 million copies and earned the Canadian singer a Grammy for Country Album of the Year.
“I was a poor kid and then a struggling artist all of those years until this finally happened,” Twain told The Associated Press from her home in Switzerland. “It was life changing for me and career changing as well.”
The Ontario-born superstar said she always intended to be more than a country singer. “That's what I expected from myself as an artist,” she explained, “to be an international artist. Not to be limited to one specific genre.”
The Diamond Edition of The Woman in Me comes in four formats: Limited-edition clear vinyl, standard vinyl, a 2-CD set and a 3-CD set with a hardcover book, and a digital download.
