Singer Shawn Hook has pulled the plug on his fall tour across Canada.
The 33-year-old was scheduled to kick off the 17-city Good Days Tour on Oct. 16 in Montreal and wrap it up on Nov. 10 in Surrey, B.C.
In a message to fans, Hook said he needs to postpone the trek until early next year.
"It was a goal of mine to have a new single out this month and a new EP out before my tour kicked off in October," he explained. "Sadly, there are a number of circumstances out of my hands that have significantly delayed my release schedule. I promised you I’d have new music out before I toured and I’m still keeping that promise."
Fans who purchased tickets for the Good Days Tour – which was to feature opening act Neon Dreams – will be given refunds at the point of purchase.
Hook apologized and said he hopes fans will continue to show him "unwavering loyalty and support."
He added: "Just know that new music is coming. I spend every waking hour thinking about it. It’s a pause for now, but when I resume the tour in 2019 we will have new songs to sing along to."
On Aug. 13, Hook tweeted a black-and-white photo of himself that he captioned: “Believing that everything happens for a reason and trusting the process.”
Last summer, Hook released the EP My Side of Your Story, which spawned the hit “Reminging Me,” featuring Vanessa Hudgens. He previously had hits like “Sound of Your Heart” and “Million Ways.”
Early this year, Hook dropped out of Hedley’s Cageless tour after allegations of sexual assault surfaced against lead singer Jacob Hoggard.
