Global chart-toppers Drake, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara and The Weeknd top the list of nominees for the 2017 Juno Awards, announced on Tuesday.
Drake, Mendes and The Weeknd are nominated in five categories each while Cara has four nods.
In the Album of the Year category, the four artists are up against Celine Dion (Encore Un Soir) and the late Leonard Cohen (You Want It Darker). Cohen is also a contender for Artist of the Year.
Single of the Year nominees are "Treat You Better" by Mendes, Drake's "One Dance," "Wild Things" by Cara, "Starboy" by The Weeknd, and "Spirits" by The Strumbellas.

Drake has won six Junos from 27 previous nominations and The Weeknd has nine wins from 11 previous nominations. Cara won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at last year's Junos and had three other nominations.
Mendes has had five previous Juno nominations, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year (Handwritten) but has never won.
More familiar names appear on this year's list of Juno nominees.
The Tragically Hip are nominated for Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year while singer Gord Downie is up for Songwriter of the Year, Best Adult Alternative Album and Best Video.
Also up for Group of the Year are Billy Talent, Arkells, Tegan and Sara and The Strumbellas.
Breakthrough Artist of the Year nominees are KAYTRANADA, Ruth B, Tory Lanez, Andy Shauf and Jazz Cartier while Breakthrough Group nominees are Bleeker, Cold Creek County, Bob Moses, The Zolas, and The Dirty Nil.
Aaron Pritchett, Chad Brownlee, Dallas Smith, Gord Bamford and Jess Moskaluke are nominated for Country Album of the Year.
International Album of the Year nominees are Ariana Grande (Dangerous Woman), Coldplay (A Head Full of Dreams), One Direction (Made in the A.M.), Rihanna (ANTI), and Sia (This Is Acting).
Previously announced Fan Choice nominees are Alessia Cara, Belly, Drake, Hedley, Justin Bieber, Ruth B, Shawn Mendes, The Strumbellas, The Weeknd and Tory Lanez.
Sarah McLachlan will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Buffy Sainte-Marie will be honoured with the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.
Performers announced so far include Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, The Strumbellas, A Tribe Called Red and Ruth B.
Michael Bublé is scheduled to host but the singer recently pulled out of hosting the BRIT Awards as he focuses on caring for his son Noah, who was diagnosed with cancer.
The Juno Awards will be broadcast on CTV on April 2 from Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre.
