Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are adding some heat to the official start of summer on Friday with “Señorita.”
The song is the second collaboration by the pair, who released “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 2015, and doesn’t come as a surprise to fans – Mendes and Cabello have frequently talked about teaming up again.
Both singers started teasing “Señorita” with steamy video clips on social media a few days ago. Mendes' online store allows fans to pre-order the single on 7" orange vinyl or on CD.
It’s the first new song from Mendes since last month’s “If I Can’t Have You,” which has become his biggest hit ever.
Mendes is currently on his world tour, which comes to Ottawa on Aug. 18 and Montreal on Aug. 20 and 21. He’ll do his first stadium concert on Sept. 6 in Toronto before heading overseas.
Cabello said this week she is prepping for the release of her sophomore solo album. “I feel like I’m pretty much done with this album and the great thing about being able to have a career in the arts is that you grow along with your craft and it teaches you so much about yourself,” she said during a panel discussion in Cannes on Tuesday, as reported by Variety.
“When I was into [my first] album, I was kind of living in my little bubble of life. I had crushes on people that I would write about from afar. I was very shy and introverted. With this album, it’s not really my imagination, it’s me writing about real things that are happening in real time. So I think that there is a level of detail and emotion that you get.
“I’m so excited because I feel like it’s captured my essence. … I’m ready to bare my soul.”
