Shawn Mendes is hot. The Canadian singer-songwriter’s second full-length album, Illuminate, earned the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart that will be published Oct. 4.
Last year’s Handwritten -- his first full-length album -- also debuted at the top of the Billboard 200.
Mendes is only the second male artist to have two No. 1 albums by the age of 18. The other is fellow Canadian Justin Bieber.

Illuminate, which was released on Sept. 23, has already spawned the hit single “Treat You Better.”
Mendes bumped another Canadian artist, Drake, to the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 (for Views).
On Oct. 1, Mendes performed an intimate show for 500 of his hometown fans at Toronto’s Great Hall.
He’s set to head out on a world tour on Nov. 1 that includes stops in Vancouver on July 8 and Montreal on Aug. 14.
