Shawn Mendes won four Juno Awards on Saturday night, including Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, and Single of the Year (for “In My Blood”).
The 20-year-old singer was not at the London, Ont. gala to accept the awards because he is on the European leg of his world tour.
This is the second year in a row that Mendes won Single of the Year.
Mendes is also nominated this year for Album of the Year and Fan Choice Award – categories that will be presented during Sunday’s Junos broadcast.
Other winners on Saturday include Bahamas for Adult Alternative Album of the Year (for Earthtones); the Arkells for Rock Album of the Year (Rally Cry); Loud Luxury for Dance Recording of the Year (“Body”); Tory Lanez for Rap Recording of the Year (“Love Me Now”) and Washboard Union for Breakthrough Group of the Year.
Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys was named International Album of the Year.
Quebec’s Voivod won Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year for The Wake – the group’s first Juno in 36 years.
Michael Bublé, who was on hand to pay tribute to David Foster, accepted the Juno for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, for Love.
“I feel older than I am but this is beautiful,” he said. “It means a lot, every single time I get to come here and be around all you beautiful souls."
