After winning Best Song at the 2017 MTV European Music Awards on Sunday, Shawn Mendes delivered an incredible performance of the winning track, “There’s Nothing Holding Me Back."

The Canadian singer beat out DJ Khaled 's “Wild Thoughts” feat. Rihanna, Daddy Yankee & Luis Fonsi's popular “Despacito," as well as Ed Sheeran's “Shape of You.”

Mendes also won Best Artist, beating Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Kendrick Lamar, and Taylor Swift – who surprisingly lost in all five of her categories.

"This guy can sing… he can write amazing music… he can play a bit of that good ol’ keys, the piano… I mean, it’s like c’mon," presenter Rita Ora said before introducing “the gorgeous” Mendes to the crowd.

Mendes also took home the Biggest Fans award as well.
