More than 30 charitable organizations helping young people will share $225,000 collected by the Simple Plan Foundation last year.
The foundation, created by members of the Montreal-based pop-rock band, has given away $2.5 million since 2008.
Among the latest recipients are SickKids Foundation, War Child Canada, the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the Domaine Forget music and dance academy.
New recipients of funds include New Pathways Foundation, which assists First Nations youth.
"Thank you to all our fans for making this possible," reads a message on the band's Instagram.
Simple Plan, which performed more than 75 concerts around the world last year, is currently taking some time off and writing songs for the band’s sixth album. This year marks the group's 20th anniversary.
“We’re all still good friends and we still all get along well,” drummer Chuck Comeau told iHeartRadio.ca of Simple Plan’s longevity, in a 2016 interview. “It’s all the same band members. We’ve never had any line-up changes, we’ve never had anyone leaving the band or being fired, so I think that makes a big difference for us and for the fans."
