There are new fears for Sinéad O’Connor this week after the singer posted an emotional video in which she said she is “fighting…to stay alive every day.”
The 50-year-old Irish singer posted the video on Aug. 3 from inside a room at a Travelodge motel in Hackensack, New Jersey, where she said she is living.
“I’ve walked this earth alone for two years now as punishment for being mentally f**king ill and being angry that nobody would f**king take care of me,” O’Connor said.
“I’m all by myself. And there’s absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist, the sweetest man on earth, who says I’m his hero, and that’s about the only thing keeping me alive at the moment.
“And that’s kind of pathetic.”
She added: “My entire life is revolving around just not dying. And that’s not living.”
The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer cries through the video and pleads for someone to help her.
“I’m begging to be brought home…for somebody who loves me to come and get me,” she said. “I can’t make it home myself.”
O’Connor is mother to four children, including Jake, 29 and Roisin, 22. Earlier this year she threatened to end her life unless Ireland's Child and Family Agency reversed its decision to remove her 13-year-old son Shane from her custody.
O'Connor also has a 10-year-old daughter Yeshua.
She said she made the video for the millions of people who suffer from mental illness and have no one. “We can’t take care of our f**king selves, you idiots,” she said. “You got to take care of us.”
A motel guest told the New York Post she saw O'Connor leave with a man on Friday.
