Slipknot has partnered with a family-owned distillery to launch its own whiskey.
No. 9 Iowa Whiskey – reportedly named for the number of band members – will hit U.S. store shelves on Aug. 10.
It was blended by Slipknot percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan, and produced by Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery.
“We collaborated on No. 9 Whiskey, which in addition to Iowa corn, gets some extra spice from its rye content,” Crahan explained, in a release. “I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Live life, and always be safe.”
The whiskey debuts at the same time as Slipknot’s new album We Are Not Your Kind. The band plays Toronto’s Budweiser Stage on Aug. 20.
Other bands with their own whiskeys include Metallica, Motörhead and Scorpions.
