Slipknot announced Wednesday they have “reimagined” Knotfest to create an online hub for performances, interviews and more.
“The site will be a fan-centered platform, created by artists for their fans, dedicated to expanding the rock and metal genres and providing a one-stop destination showcasing the very best culture has to offer,” read a message on social media.
The first episode of The Electric Theater, hosted by drummer Shawn “Clown” Crahan, is already live and features a conversation with Code Orange’s Jami Morgan.
The site will host “an exclusive Knotfest Roadshow streaming event” on Friday at 6 pm ET with Slipknot, Underøath and Code Orange. It will feature Slipknot’s headline set at the 2019 Graspop Festival in Belgium, Underøath’s 2016 show from Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas and a Code Orange set taped in an empty venue in March.
Knotfest, which was cancelled due to the pandemic, would have stopped in Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto early next month.
